i have 2 young cats that have been sprayed by Sergeant’s silver flea and tick spray for dogs we have read the story and are scared are cats are in trouble is there any way we can help them ? what are side effects? what do we watch for? How do we get it out of their fur and how do they get sick?

Bathe them with Dawn dish washing liquid. It’s probably best to take them to a vet, but you will want to monitor them for lethargy and trouble breathing. They get sick because of the pesticides you sprayed on them. Cats are sensitive to chemicals. I use revolution on my cats and kittens. I would stay away from things like Sergeant’s and Hartz. I’ve used frontline, advantage, first shield, and revolution on my cats. None of them have even had side effects, but I chose revolution because theres less medication contained in the tube to apply and because it does more than just fleas. All of my 5 cats over the years have been fine on it. Remember that all topical flea prevention is a pesticide. You can probably read up on side effects online.

hi, you should never use dog products on cats. but i think you should try and wash off as much as you can and take them to the vet as soon as possible. hope they are okay

Dawn dish soap is the best, and best done when you start seeing the side effects. Otherwise it is absorbed into there system the longer it stays on. DAWN HAS TO BE APPLIED IMMEDIATELY OUR ELSE THIS TOXIC POISON GETS IN THEIR SYSTEM AND STARTS EATING FROM THE INSIDE OUT.
WE HAD TO TAKE OUR ZOEY TO AND EMERGENCY ON CALL VET IN THE MIDDLE OR A TORNADO AT APPROXIMATELY 3:00 AM ONE EVE/MORN
SHE WAS PUT ON AN IV FOR 3 DAYS. THEY WERE UNABLE TO GET IT ALL OUT AND SHE NEVER WAS THE SAME, THEN THE DAY TWO WEEKS LATER CAME WHEN SHE DISAPPEARED IN THIN AIR. NO ZOEY BUT A HEFTY $1100.00 BILL. SHE NEVER WAS THE SAME, WALKED FUNNY, STILL HAD SEIZURES AND HER NECK WAS STILL BURNING FROM THE INSIDE OUT. HARTZ CALLS FOR UPDATES AND TO MAKE SURE YOUR NOT PURSUING THE ISSUE. THEN THEY WILL PAY YOUR VET BILL ONLY IF YOU SIGN A DOCUMENT THEY SENT YOU SAYING THE ENTIRE ISSUE IS YOUR FAULT AND THEY ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANYTHING AND NOT TO WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THE LEGAL SYSTEM BECAUSE YOU DONT HAVE A CHANCE IN HELL OF WINNING ANYTHING WHEN IT COMES TO THIS. AN OUT OF STATE COUNTRY PURCHASED HARTZ SOME TIME AGO, THE SAME ONES THAT KILLED MY 20 YEAR OLD CAT ABOUT 8 YEARS AGO WITH THE CONTAMINATED CAT FOOD. IT ALL ANOTHER GOV/POWER CONSPIRACY.
I AM SO SORRY. THE BEST ADVICE IS TO TELL YOUR LOCAL NEWS STATION, IT WILL GLOBAL. NEWS REPORTS ARE ALL OVER THE INTERNET IF YOU GO LOOK. HARTZ TOLD ME “ITS JUST A CAT, GET OVER IT” AND STARTED LAUGHING OVER THE PHONE ABOUT IT.
