My cat was poisoned last night after I washed her with Hartz Gold Flea and Tick treatment I’d bought at Target. I called the emergency vet clinic when I noticed she was having trouble walking and felt her hit her head on the metal bars under my bed. Following their directions, I washed her again wit dish soap, but she was still in bad shape, so I had to take her into the clinic. Nearly $200 later, she’s home, slow moving from the fluids and muscle relaxers, tired, and still has fleas.
The vet told me about lack of regulations in this industry and I’m even more disgusted at the greed of corporations, willing to kill innocent animals at the prospect at making a buck. I’m contacting the Consumer Protection Agency about this and other deadly products, and I encourage everyone reading this to do the same. Even a phone call with a simple statement will make an impact.

Do you mean Sargent’s Gold? Are you sure you don’t mean the FTC’ Bureau of Consumer Protuction? If you really want to help, you should really get your story straight before spouting off in such a huff!

Not only does the crap not work but it kills!! Hartz flea and tick killed my cat and our other cat doesn’t look so good either!!

I did mean Sargent’s and Federal Trade Commission’s Bureau of Consumer Protection. I guess I was just excited to find this site and the support it seemed to offer. I called the company, the FTC and the EPA yesterday to file complaints. Thanks for the heads up, although I would have appreciated a little civility after this whole ordeal. Let’s support each other.

This site is full of misrepresentation, half-truths, and run by half-cocked witch-hunters for their own monetary gain… all of which I have zero tolerance for. It’s a total scam that preys on pet owners’ emotions in their times if weakness for money.
Didn’t mean to offend you, but if you’re going to point fingers, or crucify someone, make sure you got your facts straight and accuse the right one. Right or wrong?

I feeel so bad for you, the samething happened with our four month old kitten. Sylvester ewas the most loving cat, and I cried till 4:30 a.m. My husband had to put him out of his misery, he was going threw severe convultions, bit his toung, and slowly being poisoned. This company better run for their liSo Itruely know where you are comming from, and if you or anybody else that just went threw this, I think we need to get a lawyer, someone was diliberately trying to kill these animals.
