My cat, Spooky, died last night

To everyone out there:
Go to the stores where you have made your Hartz purchases and fill out an in-store complaint form. These forms get sent to the store’s corporate offices and to the FDA, according to the nice people at Walmart. Our local Walmart removed the products I complained about from their shelves immediately. They do carry some of the other line, but they took the cat products off the shelves. The larger chain pets stores in our area, Lancaster PA, do not carry any of the Hartz line any longer. Keep after your local purveyers of pet products. They are very willing to help out in this crisis, provided they are aware. I’ve even alerted customers in the pet supply aisles when I see someone pick up anything by Hartz. Some people listen, others are rude and tell me to mind my own business. I rescue cats, and anything harmful IS my business. I guarantee that if someone had told me their story before I nearly killed 3 of my cats, I would have been very happy to have not put my babies through this.

On July 31,2012 I bathed & powdered my precious kitten Lego with Hartz Ultraguard powder for fleas. I wish to God I had known the dangers before hand. Immediately after putting the powder on her we noticed a change. She became very withdrawn & just not herself. Unfortuantely we thought it was because she was not fond of baths & she was mad. We quickly learned different. I checked with an online vet with a question but failed to name the product,although I learned the poison in their products is so deadly it wouldn’t have made a difference. We washed all the powder off of her within few hours & she seemed to perk back up for a little bit but that rapidly changed. Within 24 hrs we had to rush her to the hospital where when they saw they product we had used the immediately said to get rid of it because they are the most hazardous material can use for cats. The chemicals within their murderous products had started shutting down her kidneys,caused erratic heart beat & breathing difficultys as well as had basicly broken down her red blood cell count to nothing. her blood was like water. i can’t tell you how guilty I feel because I trusted this brand & they murdered Lego. I had to stand there helplessly while she struggled to breath & her poor eyes rolled back into her head before they were even able to put her down. I will never be able to get that vision out of my mind!!!! There was NOTHING wrong with her before using their crap & now they will not even acknowledge my calls or emails. i have started warning everyone I can online but want to do more. I want to be Lego’s voice for her. i know there have been suits filed against hartz & if anyone knows who I can contact please tell me. I will not stop till these murderers are stopeped
