BAT KITTY IM PRAYING FOR YOU, ON 10/25/2011 AT 9 AM I APPLIED A DOSE OF THIS PRODUCT TO MAY 2 YEAR OLD MALE CAT (BAT)/ WITHIN 10 MINUTES OF THIS APPLICATION, MY CAT BECAME GRAVELY ILL, EYES WERE ROLLED UP IN ITS HEAD, IT WAS SALIVATING VIGOURISLY AT THE MOUTH, EXCESSIVE GASPS FOR BREATHS, AFTER CALLING THE EMERGENCY VETERINARIAN AND ADVISING THEM OF WHAT WAS GOING ON THEY ASK ME IF IT WAS HARTZS FLEA AND TICK SPRAY, I ACKNOWLEDED THIS, I WAS ADVISED TO IMMEDIATELY WASH THE CAT AS MUCH AS I COULD, AND TO TRANSPORT THIS ANIMAL AS QUICKLY AS I CAN TO THE EMERGENCY VETERINARIAN WHICH WAS DONE IMMEDIATELY, UPON ARRIVAL THEY STARTED EMERGENCY TREATMENT, DURING DISCUSSIONS WITH THIS VETERINARIAN, THEY DISCLOSED TO ME THAT THE PRODUCT CONTAIND IN THIS PRODUCT WAS ACTUALLY A PERIZINE TOXIN, THAT WHEN IT BECOMES IN CONTACT WITH ANY ANIMALS BLOOD STREAM IN ANY MANNER IT CAN AND MOST LIKELY WILL BECOME FATAL, BAT IS CURRENTNLY BEING TREATED AND THE PROGNOSIS IS NOT GOOD, ALL WE CAN DO IS PRAY, THE HARTZ CORPORATION DOES NOT LABEL ITS PRODUCT AS SUCH, IT IS DANGEROUS AND DEADLY TO ANIMALS AND SHOULD BE REMOVED FROM ALL SHELVES AND DISTRIBUTION IMMEDIATLY, I HAVE A PETITION GOING AT WWW.CHANGE,ORG , LOOK FOR HARTZS

You have a Bat Kitty. I named one of my batch Batman. Good luck to your bat kitty. I am sorry he was the victim of Hartz crappy products. I almost suffered the same. Best of luck!

WOW! the EXACT same symptoms happened to my 6 mo kitten as well! Excpet added to all that, pooh bear had a little seuzire! i called hartz and they said it my my fault since i should of researched the product!
im sorry this happened to you as well, its terrifying what hartz products does. (i was using the flea/tick spray as well, ultra plus one )

HARTZ Ultra Guard Plus Flea & Tick SPRAY >>> KILLS AGAIN !
My cat named ELVIS at 11 years old and a long hair tabby ; for the first time in ten years had some fleas. I started using some of this spray earlier in the month during the week and at weekends doing a bath. Tuesday night with some spray for the next day ; it was not good.
The next morning he came into the bathroom where I was and meowed twice. Then walked a little and laid down on the rug ; then he shook like in a HEART ATTACK or TOXIC SHOCK or SEIZURE. In front of me he DIED in SECONDS….. My BUDDY of 10+ years was gone ; I tried to puff some air into his lungs and raced to a vet hospital barely 1/2 mile away. He was gone ; unbelievable that this POISON KILLED. Was it the few weeks of build up and it ruined his immune system? This PESTICIDE kills the BUGS but it KILLS the ANIMAL!!!
BEWARE or this HARTZ product and all other HARTZ products….

I had two 5 year old cats. A long haired white named fluffy. A gray tiger named Margo. My cats have always been indoors. We had a visitor with a dog and fleas. I bought seargents flea drops. I applied it in the afteernoon. They seemed ok. Went to do errands and visit freinds. When arriving home Fluffy was having a steady seizure. She never came out of it. Had to be put down right away by the ER vet hospital.She had no chance. Margo has some nerve damage and most likely brain damage. Walks a bit crooked. Tail has a constant twitch. Flops down on her left side because she has no control over that side when laying down. The worst is that my two teenage daughters witnessed the poisoning and death of their cat. I can’t believe this. Wow. The holidays are here and now we are missing Fluffy. This company needs to be out of business. There is no reason any animal should ever indure the pain and trauma these pets did. What an awfull end to a wonderful life. IT is just wrong. Very wrong.

over the summer my rat was acting sick i was told it was ticks so i got hartz tick spry few days latter he was lieying in his cage not able to move 3 days latter he was lieying in his cage in a puddly of blood and i had to put him down he was my baby he still had a year to hafe year before he whould of pass of old age i did not put him down at frist when he got sick becuse i was told he whould pass fast and i have things for puting animles to sleep i just cant do it it was a big fer for me but onces i was told thare was blood i had to even thogh it was hard i hop i dont ever have to put down another animel ever i dont know if hartz killed him becuse he was allready sick but he did not bleed to after i used it i whanted to get my money back from the medicen but i couldent handdel takeing it back and saying it killed my rat becuse it was to hard to even think of him and it still hard i allso had problems with thare cage clener with my hamster i could not get her cage dry and she died so never use the plastic cages thare to hard to clean allways use wire

Jessica, Who told you it was ticks? Are you sure it wasn’t a respiratory infection? Most rats are prone to Mycoplasmal. As an animal lover and former rat owner, I don’t understand why you would use anything chemical based on a small animal; such as a hamster or rat. You have to be EXTREMELY cautious applying certain flea products to rabbits, the scrutiny you have to take with a rat would be the same. Their respiratory system and skin are much more sensitive than a dog or cats. I am sorry for your loss, but for future refrence, I don’t know if you can chalk this up to Hartz shitty products or your lack of knowlage of small animals. It is evident that Hurtz heavily chemical based product contributed to the death of your furry friends, but you should have done more research and been better informed before taking action. I’m not just saying better informed about the product, just better informed in general. You shouldn’t be using chemicals on a small animal, peroid.

My 5 yr old cat Figaro died today because of the seargents gold flea and tick shampoo. I had no idea that the chemical components of it would cause so much damage, i feel awful. This product had been standing in my laundry room for a year and today i decided yo try it and it was just horrible, within minutes of applying it my cat started vomiting and having trouble beathing, i took him to the vet but it was too late, he didnt make it
