I bought hartz ultraguard plus flea and tick drops for my 1 year old wheaten terrier. I used this on him at 3 pm on saturday, a little while later i noticed him scratching excessively! I waited for a while just thinking he didn’t like the feel of it on his back… but he got worse, very restless, and sometimes crying when he would scratch. Now its 6 am sunday and he still hasn’t been able to sleep, he jumps as if something is hurting him.. After reading all the horrible stores about these products i’m really worried about what this might be doing to him… did anyone else on here have their animal react this way before they got worse? I emailed the company, I let them know that i won’t be ignored or put on hold… if anything happens to my baby, trust me, they will never hear the end of it!!!!!!!!! It amazes me that anyone would even want to sell this shit! LIKE REALLY, THEY NEED TO STOP POISIONING OUR PETS!!!!!!!!!

The same thing happened to my dog, Sassie, except alot worse. I called the company also and they said to give her a bath. They claim the product does not get into their blood or system in anyway! So once you bathe her, it washed off and she will feel better soon. I almost lost my dog bc of this product! Im so sorry all these other people are going through it too. In asked why are they selling it knowing all the animals its hurting and/or killing, they responded by saying, they document cases as they are called in. If they get enough bad reactions, they will look into reformulating the product! I asked if they seen this blog? Of course they havent. I think there is enough evidence on here to show how many animals are affected by this product!

PLEASE CALL THE EPA AND FILE A ADVERSE REATION COMPLAINT ITS THE ONLY WAY THEY CAN HELP IF PEOPLE FILE IT ONLY TAKES A FEW MINUTES JUST GOOGE EPA for number take the time to help other animals

I am so pissed off…. my dog must have still been irritated monday night becuase he bit my hand so bad he sent me to the hospital!!! hes usually so sweet but this is getting to be a bit much… they say it doesn’t get in their blood but i don’t believe that for a second!!!
Oh and thanks so much for the advice I will be looking for that number…they haven’t heard the end of me!!!! from what i’ve been reading this could have been so much worse… I’m trying to work and go to school I really don’t need to be up with a sick dog all night long and i do not need to worry about him like i have been…. for anyone that cares about their animals thats really alot of stress on someone!!!!!!!

I applied the flea and tick drops to both my both pugs and the same thing happened this weekend. I bathed them both at 5:00am this morning because they were both up all night, restless, crying, pacing and scratching. Today one of them is still acting restless and scratching. I am SO glad I hopped on the internet to research this and now know what is causing this. I thought using this product would help not having to go pay “top dollar” at the vet,but after a scare like this I guess a trip to the vet is far more worth it. Any other suggestions to get my one pug feeling better? I really could use sleep tonight and the thought of him not feeling well breaks my heart. I will NEVER purchase anything from Hartz again. If they can feel good about putting this product on the shelf, what kind of things are they doing to products that we as pet lovers buy to FEED our critters??!!

I have no idea of anything else you can do…. all the vet told me was the wash him in any kind of dishliquid right away (even though i already gave him a bath). He said if that didn’t work and help calm him down then i should bring him in as soon as possible. I hope your dogs feel better soon
please let me know how everything goes. I did recieve an email back from those assholes and they wanted my phone number saying they would try to help figure out what went wrong… Im like “yeah ok… thats just what your gonna do… test on my dog? not fucking likely!” Try emailing them.. haha maybe a nasty one like mine would help
