Another victim of Hartz

Last night I gave my cat Buddy a dose of Hartz ultra guard flea and tick drops. This morning when I woke up I noticed he was not himself. He was walking shaking and shaking his paws as if they were wet and then when crouched he appeared to be shivering. Immediately I went online to search side effects and found this site. I quickly bathed him and called the emergency animal hospital and brought him right in. They bathed him again are starting a treatment of muscle relaxers and iv’s to try to flush iout the toxins in his body. They are keeping him overnight for observation and if the conditions do not get worse or get better he will be released tomorrow. As I sit here sad, scared, and feeling guilt I wonder if I will ever see my little buddy boy again. If he does survive, it is because of this site and other peoples heartbreaking stories. I will keep everyone posted on buddy’s condition.

  1. PLEASE FILE A REPORT WITH THE EPA THATS THE ONLY WAY TO STOP THEM FROM KILLING MORE ANIMALS , JUST TELL THEM YOU WANT TO FILE A ADVERSE REATION TO A PESTICIDE HERES NUMBER 202) 272-0167. ALSO CALL HARTZ FILE A ADVERSE REATION REPORT GET A CLAIM NUMBER IF YOU DO THAT THEY MUST REPORT IT BY LAW DONT LET YOU PUP DIE IN VEIN ,

I LOST MY CAT JUST LAST WEEK HE HAD A TERRIBLE DEATH AFTER USEING HARTZ FLEA AND TICK SPRAY ON HIM , I JUST DONT WANT TO SEE MORE PEOPLE SUFFER LOSSES LIKE WE DID

  2. I just wanted to update everyone on Buddy’s status. After spending 24 hrs at the emergency animal hospital, Buddy is back home and doing well. It looks like I caught it quick enough that with the care he received he is going to be just fine and as of this morning he is back to his old self. What a scare it was knowing how close I came to killing my little Buddy without even knowing it. This site literally saved his life. Reading other peoples stories and the what it did to their beloved animals made me realize how serious of a situation it was and didn’t hesitate one bit to rush him to the animal ER.

Thanks to everyone who has shared their stories, because of them Buddy is here today.

  3. First of all, I am very relieved that you were able to take appropriate action so that you have more precious days with your buddy.
Secondly, I strongly suggest going back to the store where you purchased the Hartz product and demand that they take it off of the shelves. Inform them that they are selling a toxic product and not advising loving animal owners of the consequences. If they do not remove the product, advise them them you will not be shopping there any longer. This is the only way that Hartz will get the message to stop producing its lethal product(s).
