It’s a horrable death

I put Hartz UltraGuard on three kittens and one is near death now. She laid in my lap without moving for four hours with her eyes wide open, never blinking. She only closed her eyes when her mother started grooming her. I washed her with Dove dish soap but it is too late. She’s now convulsing. Her sister is not moving either. I washed her an hour ago. She is in my lap and will suffer the same fate. The brother seems OK. I just washed him. He’s the only one of the three who put up a fight in the water.  The other two had no life to fight. I have  no money for a vet but I don’t believe they can be saved but I don’t even have the money to put them out of their misery. If I had a gun I would shoot them. It was their mother’s first (and last litter) she was taken in as a stray and was such a good mother to them. It was all so natural to her. She has not left the dying one for six hours. The emergency clinic won’t look at them without money. The kittens were for my grand daughters. I’m so sick I don’t know what to do. I have one in my lap and I know it will start convulsing, like her sister in another six hours. How can Hartz be allowed to sell this product? Their mother is so upset she is crying. I can’t help her.

Flea drops nearly killed my cat~!

I didnt know it would hurt my cat the way it did~

I thought all flea drops were the same, just that larger amounts were in the dog remedies. since I have 7 dogs and 3 cats, I bought the dog remedy flea drops to use. I assumed that it was packaged according to dosing and that if I used a smaller amount on my cats that it would have been safe~

I assumed that since it was safe to use in small amounts on puppies that using a smaller amount would also work on my cats.

Even though it said not to use on cats, I thought that was merely a selling method they used to get more sales individually for both species, since they were killing the same fleas~

my assumption has nearly cost my cat her life and she is still in the hospital now, on intravenous medications combined to antidote her poisoning, prevent dehydration, alleviate the damage to her central nervous system, giving her musdle relaxants and sedation as well as pain remedy as this is an excruciatingly  painful condition caused by the poisons used in manufacturing the flea drops.

Warning should be more specific instead of just saying :”do not use on cats” the warning should include ‘why’ ~ such as :

HAD IT SAID ‘DEADLY’ I never would have used it assuming it to only kill fleas!

“I NOW SEE THAT MANY PEOPLE MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE~ SO THE GOVERNMENT NEEDS TO MAKE THESE FLEA DROP COMPANIES PRINT A LARGER STRONGER WARNING ON THEIR PRODUCTS.Complying by using microscopic letter that most people can not even read, they need instead to make plainer, stronger warnings or not be allowed to sell such deadly products publicly~”…Ave Hurley,  July 1,2009

This stuff need to be pulled off the market!!

We foster dogs and had a stash of this Hartz Gold on hand. We had never used it then we got a dog that was infested with ticks so we put it in him, and our three others. Three were fine but our poodle started screaming within an hour, running around and thorwing himself into the walls. He was so scared he ran down our hall peeing and pooing!! And he’s houstrained! We’ve spent all night with him, called the poison control center and everything. We’ve given him bathes with dishwashing soup (as directed by others) and still he’s in massive pain. Someone needs to start a class action against Hartz for this. Why this product is still on the market is beyond me!!

Thank God i found this site.

I have three cats, they all have fleas. I used the hartz ultra pro drops as sort of a last ditch effort before i had to take all of them to the vet to get the good stuff. When i put it on, it was oily and spread all across their necks. I didnt think anything of it because the label said it had to dry. Well probably 6 or 7 hours later it was still oily. I went online and typed in Hartz flea treatment and this site was the first one at the top of the page. I was curious so i clicked on it and my stomach fell to the floor. I love my cats and the thought of losing any one of them is too much. So i requested the assistance of my little sister, gathered all the cats in the bathroom and then gave them all baths with Dawn. Now they are all traumatized and i am scratched up to the point where it looks like i got into a fight with a rake, but it was well worth it if i have intervened in time to save my cats. Now, i am going to get the good stuff from the vet no matter the cost and pay for someone to give them a flea bath. The Hartz products should be off the shelves and they should be ashamed of themselves for not doing the right thing and taking the products off the shelves themselves. The good news in all this is i have already seen a few dead fleas on my cats that i have picked off and thrown away. Thank You for putting this information out their for people to find, you will have my eternal gratitude.
