Hey I bought Hartx ultraguard plus for my dog and used it on him about 1 hour ago and just went online to see how well it worked. Well I found this site and am really upset that this product is available and dangerous. I was hoping someone could help me with some ideas as to what I should do now. I am going to go to the vet and get some advantage but i imagine that I cannot apply it until the Hartz wears off, should I wash him now?
I also bought the hartz flea and tick shampoo…is it also dangerous? Thank you for any help.

It depends on the weight of your dog probably, but my 15lb dog had convulsions and vomiting after we used a toxic flea product on her.
Promptly after reading about how bad the flea protection was, we gave her a bath with a mild pet shampoo, and she got better after a few hours.

You do need to wash her ASAP. And no I wouldn’t use the Hartz shampoo either, i would use a deep cleansing shampoo like allergroom. and i would wash the dog multiple times to make sure that all of the product is off of her.
