Don’t Use Sergeant’s Gold Flea & Tick Squeeze On!!!

I used this product on my 2 small dogs one 14 lbs and one 11 lbs. They both began scratching and rolling around on floor. I realized they were having an allergic reaction. I then bathed them both and gave them liquid benadryl. They both continued to be miserable overnight with my smaller dog whining when he moves. I bathed them again this morning with medicated shampoo and put Vesticort (which I got from the vet for dry itchy skin before) on them. They are both still miserable but it seemed to help a little. I wish that I had checked on the product online before I bought it. I usually use Frontline from the vet but hours at work have been cut so I was trying to save a little money. I will not do that again. Anyone reading this take warning this product ought to be banned!!!!

Sergeant’s Silver Flea & Tick Squeeze-on: DON’T USE!!!

Please please please do not use Sergeant’s Silver Flea & Tick on your pets!! It has SERIOUS and LIFE THREATENING side effects, which we are experiencing with our pug this week! She has been breathing heavily/panting, constantly scratching the area where we applied the medicine, has lost her personality, has a 102 fever, is lethargic, and she doesn’t want to play/go outside.  It started immediately after we applied the flea killer.  Luckily we bathed her and gave her Benedryl right away or it could have been worse.  So far we’ve bathed her twice, once with Dawn dish soap (which is the only thing that will take the flea medicine off), made two vet visits (4 shots and some pills) and have been shoving Benadryl down her throat all week! it has been 3 days now and she is just starting to feel better.  It wasn’t until I found this website yesterday that I even knew for sure what the problem was.
The vet we saw says he sees this all the time, and has also seen cases where animals have died from this. The vet also said all OTC flea meds are garbage and to use what your vet provides you with.
It’s unbelievable that this medicine has not been pulled off the shelves after all the harm it’s caused to poor dogs/cats and their owners!!!

Hi, this message is for a LAWSUIT

I don’t know if you remember my story about Cachou and Lynx. Please search for it on this blog if you don’t remember.
I’m looking for people living in Quebec, or at least in Canada. I’m doing an appeal against Hartz inc. and I need YOUR story with their products so we can have a lot of proofs.

I’ll give you my email [email protected], please reply me as soon as possible. You don’t need to send me your story right now, but please inform me if you will send me a story.
Please use english or french as my native langage is  french.
Thank in advance.

Boston and Pug affected!

We used the Sergeants Gold Flea & Tick Squeeze-On and almost lost both of our dogs. They immediately started digging and scratching, rolling on their backs trying to stop the burning. That progressed to yelping,  panting, drooling, foaming at the mouth, eyes swelling shut, crying and seizure like twitching all night. We bathed them over and over with a mild soap and administered Benadryl repeatedly. After a long night and day, they recovered, thankfully, but at one point we truly thought the Pug would die in our arms. I have written letters to the local and corporate offices of Wal-Mart and Kroger, asking that they review their inventory and consider pulling some of these dangerous items from their shelves.  Please spread the word, as most people probably don’t hear this until WAY too late, just as we did. I have heard the product names Hartz and Sergeants for many years and assumed these were trusted, well known brands if they have lasted that long. That was a horrible assumption and not something I will do to my pets again.

I need some help.

Tank you for your help.

Yesterday I noticed that my four month old kitten had a strange discolored spot on her neck directly under her flea collar. I immediately removed the collar to inspect and clean the spot and realized that the discoloration was actually just that she had no fur on the front aspect of her neck! I wish I had heard about Hartz Victims before as she has been wearing the Hartz flea collar for about 3 months. My other kitty has been wearing a Hartz flea collar as well but seems to have had no reaction- I have taken it off now so hopefully she wont have any problems! I am shocked and appalled that such a big pet product company has these problems and is still on the market! Please DO NOT BUY HARTZ PRODUCTS FOR YOUR PETS! I hope that this site and evidence from pet owners can help to put Hartz out of business!

what can we do

My weimeraner dog should have to go through the hell he is going through, a weimeraner is a very active dog and now he can hardly stand after giving him the sergeants gold flea drops, we are both on unemployment so cannot afford to take him to the vet, we have heard that the only thing we can do is try and flush him out, and that is not a guarantee that he will not have lifelong effects because hartz is too stupid to realize that their product is killing animals!! The whole damn company should be blown to hell!!  I will not use hartz product again and am working diligently to let the world know not to buy any hartz products.  I have contacted the local news company, but that is not doing my dog anygood, the damage has been done.  Two weeks after applying the product the dog became lethargic, which is highly unusual for these dogs. The next day the twitching and spasms began and he stopped wanting to eat or drink. After collapsing and hardly able to get up we took him to the emergency vet center, after one look at my dog the vet already knew what had happened, it was actually the first question the vet asked “what flea treatment are you using”, after we told the vet seargeants gold flea drops, the vet said the dog had been poisoned, and recommended a full blood work up, iv treatments.  Since we are both unemployed and could not afford the treatment we had to refuse the treatment and took our dog home to force liquids and food down him. I even went to the local head shop and bought some daily cleanse detox for him.  Surprisingly after the first triple dose (usual dosage is one pill three times a day, i gave the dog 3 pills at once to get it going), anyway after the first triple dose he took a nap and the first thing he did when he woke up was drink a full bowl of chicken broth and he could actually stand up (very wobbly but he could stand!), so I am still giving him the daily cleanse and force feeding/drinking, along with benedryl (allergies),  he is still having his  bad moments, but he does perk up every once in a while.  I hope he pulls through, he is not having diarrhea or vomiting, but is very weak and still falls out when walking, twice when he was trying to urinate, he even wagged his tail last night.  Please keep me informed if there is something else I could be doing or if anyone has any success stories.  My email is [email protected] .     the only thing i know to do is keep him drinking and flushing him out, i am thinking of trying echinacea, is there any hope out there?

Looking for California Victims of Flea Products

I have been fighting Hartz  for years. See my web sites below.

I recently was contacted by Joel Grover of KNBC. He is a well respected award winning reporter for NBC. He wants to do a story about this horrible problem of flea products injuring and killing our belove animal friends. He asked if I could supply names and emails  of people who had  problems with flea products hurting their animals, especially people within California so he could interview them in person.

I think another news story will help to warn the public about just how  dangerous  these products are, which are being sold as safe to use.

Please email me at either [email protected] or [email protected] get involved, help save our pets.

Thank you

sargent’s squeeze on flea and tick

I purchased this flea and tick medicine at the grocery store yesterday because we ran out of our boxer Shellby’s regular medicine. We applied it yesterday around 1 pm and today she has been throwing up all day and is on the way to the vet as we speak. I can’t believe all the horrible information I’m finding online about this flea and tick medication. I am only and forever going to purchase any meds for her at the vet. I advise all pet owners to do the same. I am completely outraged.

Shellby seemed to have irritated skin, as she continually was rubbing her rear and her head on the ground for relief. I’m assuming she ingested the medication which caused her to be sick.
