Too many pets have suffered because of Hartz, and this needs to STOP…NOW.
While Class Action lawsuits are one avenue that people should continue to pursue, I am recommending another, perhaps faster and more direct option. If we can collectively influence Wal-Mart, Hartz’s largest customer in the world, to discontinue their Hartz Flea & Tick products, Hartz will have to re-think what products it puts into the marketplace. Hartz needs Wal-Mart, but Wal-Mart does not need Hartz.
Our challenge then is to get Wal-Mart to listen to our stories and then act on them. To do this, I recommend the following. We reach out to as many people that have been impacted by Hartz to send their stories to the CEO of Wal-Mart. For maximum impact, I ask that we send the CEO one letter every day, for as many days as we can get stories. Furthermore, to show the CEO that we mean business and so that we ensure he takes our letters seriously, I recommend that these letters be FEDEXED (or any other over-night delivery service) to him each day so that he has to pay attention to us.
Hartz has deep pockets when it comes to fighting legal battles, but it has very little recourse when it comes to a retailer telling them that enough is enough. Hartz will have to listen.
If people are interested in pursuing this idea, please let me know.

I am outraged at what is going on, and I found this website only after a Google Search of “flea medicine reactions”. I treated my kitty with Hartz 3 in 1 flea and tick. She immediately started with tremors, and hard breathing and very eratic behavior. I actually washed some of the medication off last night because she was having tremors still. This morning she was a mess and I went to the internet for info. I was completely blown away that this has been an issue for years with so many animals affected by the Hartz poison, they call flea medicine.
My cats is in the vet hospital as we speak, with full time nurse to make sure she doesn’t seizure. Muscle relaxers, to stop the shaking, an IV and an estimated vet bill of 1,000.
Thank God I saw the info and got her to the vet in time. This has to stop now! We need this off of the shelves and that is the only way it can happen.

I am with you. On Sept. 23 I applied Seargants gold to all four of my babies which I bought at Walmart. That night I was taking them to the emergency room and the day after that I was taking them to the vet. After 72 hours was over my dogs still were not over it. I do not understand why walmart even has it on the shelf. I think people ought to sue the Hartz, Seargants, and Walmart companies. Plus I think people ought to contact all of the news companies and try to get the word out to the public about all of these products that are toxic to our babies and could possibly kill them. I myself don’t know if it will work but I am certainly going to try.
