I got the Hartz flea and tick drops and administered them to my kitten. She is an indoor cat, but my children play outside all the time and I have no idea what they bring in. I thought I was doing a good thing and protecting her, but boy was I wrong. We put the drops on in the morning and went to swim at a friends’ house. When we returned our sweet baby kitten Lovey, was in HORRIBLE shape. She has violent tremors, was feverish, drooling heavily and could not stand up. She looked absolutely terrible. I was scared to death and this cat is my pride and joy. My two sons adore her and I don’t know what we would’ve done if she died. We gave her a bath and got the poison off right away. I called Hartz and the vet. The Hartz people were really patronizing me and treated me like an idiot. I have never been so upset. Thankfully Lovey recovered and is fine now. I can’t believe Hartz still has this stuff on the market. It’s truly awful.
a couple of years ago my cat was treated with the flea and tick drops and consequently suffered servere muscle tremors. our vet bills were outrageous. just recently i came home to find my rommate’s cat acting very strangely and his tail was twitching. i immediately regonized the symptoms and saw that the back of his neck was damp so i washed him quickly with dish soap. He has recovered fully, but he may not have if i had not had the prior experience and recognized the effects. I have now made it a priority to get the product of the shelves here in norman. March 2006 seems much too far away!!!
