When I was growing up, we never had much cash and used products we bought at the local mart in attempt to treat our animals as well as we treated ourselves. Though I am financially able and paranoid enough now to exercise all of this care under the supervision of my wonderful vet, the extent of care has not changed.
Yesterday my boyfriend treated his cats with Hartz Flea Drops before I could catch him. Today, his cats were not themselves at all. I had heard of horror stories about this product and jumped on the internet, which led me to this site. Thank God! We just went through a nice little bath ritual, and luckily the languid and dazed-looking pair are back to normal and destroying his bedroom.
Looking back, though, I remember now a heartbreaking loss our family suffered from using Hartz on a kitten we had raised on a bottle. This was an animal that saw many trips to the emergency vet in our attempts to heal the emotional and physical trauma of being the abandoned runt, only to lose her life to the very care that saved it. At the time, my mother glazed over the information, protecting me from the anger and frustration that this product could be sold to very well-intentioned people such as ourselves. Now it is clear. There is no way to thank you enough for this website. You just saved our babies and added three new advocates to your cause.
